Bart-Jan trained in the Netherlands and spent a year in Brisbane with Dr Gupta and Dr Cutbush in 2020. Following this, he became a consultant orthopedic surgeon at the Medisch Spectrum Twente in Enschede,� the Netherlands with the main interest in the shoulder. Upon return, he finished his Ph.D. thesis in 2022 on surgical techniques on 'the ageing shoulder'.
